Curated by Dan Nadal, Chicago Comics: 1960s is an introduction (and invitation) to look at an art form that is instrumental in defining the various aesthetics, social, political, and personal of our city during the past 60 years. This is a densely packed cup of euphoria. The focus is on (independent) investigations by some of the top cartoonists and artists working in the city. The show is expansive and covers a range of topics that address socio-political, new art approaches, atypical voices, marginalised communities, to name a few. If you have any interest in the medium of comics or if you fancy yourself a Chicago history buff, this assembly is certainly worth the trek.
