Riley Harper Thesis Statement

Riley Harper is a Visual Arts Education major, with endorsements in drama/theatre education and special education. For their thesis, Riley used a mixed media approach using paint, embroidery and serigraphy (screen printing). In these works of art, Riley explores how the audience views the paintings by creating illusions. The optical studies Riley creates causes the audience to get up close to get a sense for the detail in the work. But these artworks also require the audience to take several steps back to actually see the image in the work of art.
