Rylee Carpenter Thesis Statement
Rylee Carpenter is a double major in Criminal and Social Justice, as well as Art & Design. She is a senior this year at Saint Francis, coming from Lockport Township High School, and is very excited to share her thesis surrounding the subject of mental health as it relates to the things her own life. Rylee enjoyed being outside for most of her childhood, and takes a lot of inspiration from nature in her work. Each of her pieces in this show demonstrate different areas of mental struggle that people go through and can relate to as they reflect on their own lives, as many experiences can be secretly shared. As for her career in art, painting and ceramics are her specialties, and she enjoys creating and sharing art for herself and others. She is pursuing her graduate work in Art Therapy, combining her two interests in art and helping others, and will potentially work with juveniles or incarcerated individuals.
